BRABUS XL 800. Explore Life. On Higher Ground.
06.05.2025 - There are off-roaders. There are supercars. And then, there’s the BRABUS XL 800 - a Masterpiece created to bridge the gap between the two worlds with engineering superlatives that know no limits. Based on the W 465 series Mercedes-AMG G 63, the ultra-luxury Geländewagen towers over any terrain with a ground clearance of 47 centimeters (18.5 in) thanks to its specially designed BRABUS suspension system featuring portal axles. Boasting 800 twin-turbocharged V8 horsepower, it claims both uncharted territory beyond the edges of the map and the world’s most extravagant boulevards as its own. Every detail—from the exposed-carbon WIDESTAR bodywork to the hand-stitched slate gray BRABUS Masterpiece interior—exudes absolute, unfiltered confidence.
Visually, the BRABUS XL 800 impresses with its BRABUS WIDESTAR exterior concept featuring characteristically wide fender flares in the front and rear, made entirely from exposed-structure carbon fiber. The BRABUS front fascia is produced from the same high-grade composite material. It seamlessly joins the BRABUS fenders and integrates the winch with a line pull of 4,500 kg (9,921 lbs.) optimally into the front view. The robust BRABUS front guard is also part of the broad ADVENTURE range, designed to take the supercar’s off-road capabilities to the highest level.
The thrilling BRABUS 1-Second-Wow effect of the rear view comes courtesy of a special carbon fascia and a carbon trim panel for the rear-end door, which sports a recessed BRABUS logotype. The BRABUS roof wing adds a final, exclusive visual highlight.
The BRABUS XL 800 captivates thanks to its extravagant appearance. But that is far from all: it also defies the ordinary with its extremely powerful engine. The BRABUS 800 four-liter, twin-turbo eight-cylinder produces 588 kW / 800 hp (788 bhp) at 6,600 rpm and delivers a peak torque of 1,000 Nm (737 lb-ft), which is readily available at 3,600 rpm.
The two tailpipes of the BRABUS stainless sports exhaust on each side of the vehicle are framed by an exposed-structure carbon surround. It integrates red launch ambience lights, which are activated together with the interior lighting. The key strong point of this exhaust system, however, is active sound management. Depending on the selected drive mode, the V8 either whispers in the subtle “Coming Home” mode or produces an extremely powerful exhaust note in the “Sport” position.
Maximum off-road capabilities were at the very top of the list of priorities for the BRABUS engineers and designers in the development of the BRABUS XL 800. In order to realize a tremendous ground clearance of 47 centimeters (18.5 in) and equally extremely helpful maximum axle articulation, they developed a special portal axle suspension system.
The special suspension configuration includes BRABUS Monoblock Z/HD high-end wheels. Defined by a sporty eight-spoke design and a BRABUS typical, all-black finish, these 9.5Jx22 alloys were manufactured using the latest forging as well as CNC-machining technology and are a perfect combination of lightweight construction and strength.
The BRABUS XL 800 pictured here features a particularly exclusive Masterpiece interior fashioned from slate gray leather. The elaborate “Double Cube” quilting applied with pinpoint precision on the inner sections of the door panels, the floor mats, the leather center strip in the Dinamica headliner and the center sections of the seats captivates at the very first glance. To ensure optimal climate control of the seats, the seat surfaces that sport this pattern are additionally perforated with meticulous accuracy. The BRABUS logo pattern adds further visual highlights on other interior elements.
