Motul and BRABUS spotlight their partnership with the world’s fastest four-seat cabriolet

Motul has been the exclusive supplier of high-performance lubricants for all BRABUS supercars and high-performance engines since 2012. The two global players spotlight this successful technology partnership with a spectacular world premiere as part of the 2016 edition of the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The new BRABUS 850 6.0 Biturbo Cabrio with a rated output of 625 kW / 850 HP (838 bhp) and a top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph) is the fastest and most powerful four-seat cabriolet in the world. On Friday, June 17, 2016, the new supercar will be presented to the public for the first time at the official drivers’ parade in Le Mans. To mark this occasion, the new supercar sports a special Motul design scheme.
The second vehicle of BRABUS GROUP to also participate in the parade is a Bentley Continental GT Cabriolet refined by STARTECH, which was likewise clad in a Motul outfit.

Motul has been making history as an oil manufacturer for more than 160 years. What is more: Motul is also recognized as the specialist in synthetic lubricants. As early as 1971, Motul was the first lubricant manufacturer to pioneer the formulation of a 100% synthetic lubricant for automotive engines, the 300V lubricant, making use of esters technology stemming from the aeronautical industry. Consequently, what would have been more logical than a technology partnership between BRABUS, the world’s largest independent car tuner and small-volume manufacturer, and Motul, the specialist for high-performance lubricants?

The two companies have cooperated in the development of high-performance engines and lubricants since 2012 and every BRABUS vehicle produced or tuned at the company seat in Bottrop or at either of the two branches in California and Dubai is filled with Motul lubricants.

Motul also has a long tradition in motorsports. The company is the official lubricant partner of the FIA World Endurance Championship and has elevated its cooperation of more than 60 years with the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, the organizer of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, to a new level.

This year marks already the 22nd time that the supporting program of the world’s most famous car race includes the official driver’s parade featuring all participants in the race. It is held in the streets of Le Mans on the Friday before the race and attracts a crowd of more than 150,000. Motul has been the official partner of the parade since 2014.

This is the setting for Motul this year to present the world premiere of the world’s fastest and most powerful four-seat cabriolet. The 350-km/h (217-mph) BRABUS 850 6.0 Biturbo Cabrio is based on the Mercedes S 63 4MATIC and powered by a BRABUS twin-turbo V-8 engine with an increased displacement of six liters (366 cu in). The high-performance engine with a peak output of 625 kW / 850 HP (838 bhp) and a peak torque of 1,450 Nm (1,069 lb-ft) is lubricated exclusively with fully synthetic Motul high-performance motor oil. From a visual standpoint, the all-wheel-drive BRABUS open-top supercar captivates with its sporty and elegant appearance featuring naked carbon aerodynamic-enhancement components and 21-inch hi-tech forged wheels.

The exterior designers developed a special Motul design scheme specifically for this event that adorns not only this cabriolet, but also the second exclusive car from BRABUS GROUP to participate in the drivers’ parade in Le Mans. The Bentley Continental Cabrio clad in a STARTECH designer outfit impresses with its sporty carbon aerodynamic-enhancement elements, 22-inch forged wheels and a custom-refined cockpit.
